The Travel Trade unit of Explore Minnesota Tourism markets the state domestically and internationally as a travel destination to tour operator, group tour and travel agent markets. In addition, Travel Trade promotes coverage of Minnesota in travel trade and international media. We attend trade shows, orchestrate sales missions, create direct mailings and advertising, and host familiarization tours.
In the United States we work with tour operators from throughout the country to develop and expand Minnesota tour options. Explore Minnesota Tourism provides resources for travel planners to develop group tours, packaged travel and FIT travel programs. Our international program works to increase the number of international visitors to the state and to extend the length of their stay. Primary target markets for Minnesota's international activities are Canada, Mexico, German-speaking countries, the United Kingdom and Ireland, the Nordic countries, Japan and China.
This web site offers planning assistance to expand business to Minnesota by travel professionals. Frequently requested information, such as top events, images, performance venues, group accommodations and suggested itineraries are all provided. And links to other tourism organizations and to our staff make Minnesota tour planning easier than ever!
