The "lake which speaks" is a dominant feature of this park. In fall, thousands of geese descend on the lake, bald eagles perch on nearby trees and deer are a common sight. Fishing is popular year-round and the area is rich in Minnesota history. 6 miles hiking; 5 miles cross-country ski trails. The park has a semi-modern campground with electric sites, hot showers, flush toilets, swimming beach and boat access.

  • Directions to Facility / Event: Approximately 1/2 mile north of Watson on U.S. Highway 59 and State Highway 7, then west on Chippew County Road 13.

  • Additional Date Information: Book an online reservation 24 hours a day. Phone reservations can be made by calling 866-857-2757 (TTY: 952-936-4008) between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. daily November through March, and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily April through October. Call Ctr closed holidays.

Rates

  • Additional Rate Information: Park permits: $25 annual, $18 second vehicle, $12 handicapped, or $5 daily. Camping fees are separate.

  • Desc of Green Practices in Place: Solar Powered building to be completed this summer. Grant from Excel Energy is paying for Solar Panels to be placed at our headquarters this should reduce electric bill dramatically. Construction to begin this summer.
