    This Cross-Country Mountain Bike Race is held at Mount Kato. Mount Kato has played host to several MTB races each season since opening 7+ miles of wooded single-track trails in 1996. This venue was designed, built & is maintained by riders for riders. The course starts with a nice warm-up climb to the top of the ski area. Once on top, all racers make a large traverse along the front of the ski area. The course has a good balance of climbs, descents and technical sections with switchbacks. The approximate vertical gain per lap is 500 feet. No one will be disappointed with this course. The event is organized entirely by volunteers, Peace Coffee Racing, and all profits are donated back to the cycling community.

    Christmas at Bethany tickets are free, with a free-will offering received during the concert. The concerts are scheduled to be streamed live online.

    People attending the parade are encouraged to arrive early to find parking and to account for the possibility of trains crossing the streets in the area (Mound Ave. will be closed to traffic west of Hubbell Street starting at 5 pm until after the parade ends). Bring lawn chairs and blankets for along the parade route, and be sure to dress your family for the weather! There will be extremely limited seating in the warming house near the end of the parade.

    Parking is available in designated parking lots/areas denoted on the map below. On-street parking is also available. There is no parking along the parade route.

    Every September Native Americans from a number of tribes gather in Mankato’s Land of Memories Park, where the Dakota people held many ceremonies and gatherings before the US-Dakota War of 1862. The conflict resulted in the execution of 38 Dakota warriors in Mankato on December 26, 1862. In keeping with the theme of reconciliation visitors and participants, native and non-native alike, are welcome to attend. The Pow-Wow has been held in Mankato since 1972. The three-day event includes the beautiful regalia of the dancers, traditional music, delicious foods and beautiful crafts.

    The North Star Bicycle Festival, presented by North Memorial Health Care, is a multi-day, multi-location celebration of cycling. Held in seven locations across Minnesota and Western Wisconsin, the festival features a wide range of events, from the MN Fixed Gear Classic velodrome race to the Life Time Fitness Hillfest recreational ride to the North Star Grand Prix stage race to food trucks, bike expos and kids activities, including the Park Dental Tour de Kids presented by Shimano. To date, the MN Fixed Gear Classic and the North Star Grand Prix have attracted 2,500 of the country’s top professional and elite cyclists, including 32 Olympians. This year, hundreds of cyclists and thousands of fans are expected at the Festival, which will benefit Special Olympics Minnesota.

    The center of activity for the North Mankato stage of the North Star Grand Prix will be at the intersection of Lookout Drive and Lee Blvd. The Start/Finish line and the Expo will be located near this intersection. The riders will complete multiple laps of a 20.5 mile rural circuit which uses beautiful Nicollet County roads and returns to North Mankato up the extra challenging Valerie Lane hill. Spectators will have the chance to walk from the Expo to the top of Valerie Lane to watch the Queen and King of the Hill competitions.

    When riders complete their rural circuits they will transfer on to a 3.7 mile circuit within the City of North Mankato. During each of the finishing the circuits the riders will climb the 1-mile Lookout Drive hill. While the hill is not as steep as Valerie Lane the riders will find it equally as challenging due to the frequency they have to race it. This challenging course will provide the riders with two unique climbs which are certain to dictate the outcome of the race.

    Business on Belgrade presents our miniature version of German heritage and fun. Join us for Bier on Belgrade located in the Central Business District of Historical and Unique Beautiful Lower North Mankato.

    We will have a fun filled day of activities, food vendors, live music, Bier sampling from local and world renown brewery’s. Ceremonial first beer with city officials, bean bag toss and keg bowling.

    Wear your Lederhosen and receive an extra free beer ticket with $15.00 admission. Must be 21 years of age to attend.
