St. Cloud and the Central Lakes is one of the fastest growing areas in Minnesota and you can't believe what we have in store for you! World-class gardens, the Mighty Mississippi, fabulous festivals, scenic lakes, and a booming economy--it just doesn't get much better than this! Our arts and entertainment are top-notch, our accommodations and places to eat are outstanding, and recreational opportunities seem endless. Come stay awhile--you'll be glad you did! St. Cloud, a thriving Mississippi River city blessed year-round with a wide range of cultural, social, and recreational activities. Historic theaters, renowned international gardens and regional shopping are just a sample of what awaits you.

Learn about our history and the history of the granite industry at the Stearns History Museum. It’s Minnesota's only nationally accredited history museum outside the metro area and contains the Pan automobile that was manufactured in St. Cloud in 1919! Kids of all ages love playing in the Children’s Gallery at the museum. One of the two floors of displays tells the story of the first immigrants to Central Minnesota and the other floor houses traveling exhibits of interest. www.stearns.history.museum

Stroll through the fabulous Munsinger Gardens with the distinctive giant oak, hemlock and pine trees and the Clemens Gardens featuring a series of European gardens including the Virginia Clemens Rose Garden with over 1000 rose bushes.

Attend a production at the beautifully renovated Paramount Theater (320-259-5463) or the Pioneer Place on Fifth (320-203-0331). You’ll love the music, dance, drama, laughter - something for everyone!

Enjoy biking, hiking, and walking on the many trails around the St. Cloud area including the Beaver Island Trail, the Lake Wobegon Regional Trail or Quarry Park. Quarry Park gives you a glimpse into the industry that gave St. Cloud the nickname of Nitty Gritty Granite City at the turn of the century. Bigger than you think – Quarry Park was created at the site of 25 abandoned granite quarries. Explore and you’ll find a swimming area, hiking/nature trails, mountain bike routes, four miles of groomed lighted cross country ski trails, scuba diving, and rainbow trout and bass fishing.
