Nisswa is the place to be the day after Thanksgiving! While others are thinking about the hustle and bustle of Black Friday shopping, the Nisswa downtown is creating a Norman Rockwell scene. Festivities for the 36th annual event begin in the afternoon with horse-drawn wagon rides, storytelling, food vendors, bonfires, holiday carolers and live reindeer. Pioneer Village is the setting for the live nativity, and Love Lights a Tree program, which supports Good Samaritan Society's Home Hospice program. At 5:30, the LIGHTS come on throughout town and Santa Claus greets the children. The event culminates with a rare winter fireworks display that lights up the crisp night sky. Enjoy live music at the Legion and the Pickle Factory after the fireworks.

Proceeds benefit Confidence Learning Center, Soup Kitchen and the Food Shelf.
