    Nisswa is the place to be the day after Thanksgiving! While others are thinking about the hustle and bustle of Black Friday shopping, the Nisswa downtown is creating a Norman Rockwell scene. Festivities for the 36th annual event begin in the afternoon with horse-drawn wagon rides, storytelling, food vendors, bonfires, holiday carolers and live reindeer. Pioneer Village is the setting for the live nativity, and Love Lights a Tree program, which supports Good Samaritan Society's Home Hospice program. At 5:30, the LIGHTS come on throughout town and Santa Claus greets the children. The event culminates with a rare winter fireworks display that lights up the crisp night sky. Enjoy live music at the Legion and the Pickle Factory after the fireworks.

    Nisswa ushers in fall with the 44th annual Nisswa Fall Festival. The 12th annual Smokin' Hot BBQ Challenge is part of this annual fall tradition. Start your day with a pancake breakfast. You can participate in the medallion hunt and compete in the bean bag tournament. Kids congregate by the turtle track parking lot for activities that include bounce houses and games. The tantalizing smell of barbecued ribs wafts through town as teams compete in the Smokin' Hot BBQ Challenge. After ribs are judged, the public gets it's chance to taste the creations. Late afternoon live music outdoor concert throughout the day.

    This is a rare opportunity to appreciate the beauty and craftsmanship of some of the world's most unique vintage wood boats. These breathtaking beauties are on public display dockside along the shores of Gull Lake. Enjoy a beautiful afternoon in the sun and learn the history of these inspiration from the past. The event also includes the Classic Boat Tour of Gull Lake and Shoreline parade, departing around 4:30 pm, weather permitting.

    The Gull Lake Events group joins forces to bring a fun, autumn Pub Crawl to the lakes area. FREE shuttle service between locations, commemorative mugs and lots of great food and music are all part of the event. Participating locations include: Ernie's on Gull, Zorbaz on Gull, Grand View Lodge, Jakes Gull Lake, Cowboys, Sherwood Forest, Bar Harbor and Gull Dam Brewing. Proceeds benefit Confidence Learning Center, Soup Kitchen and the Food Shelf. This event runs in conjunction with Grand View Lodge's 7th annual Golftoberfest, featuring live music under a heated tent.
