West Metro
The west metro Minneapolis area is urban and suburban at the same time. West End shopping area in St. Louis Park is like walking a small town main street, yet with views of the downtown skyscrapers.
Lake Minnetonka, the largest lake in the Twin Cities area, offers several boat excursions, including an early 1900s trolley boat. On the shore, charming Wayzata and Excelsior are known for their shops and cafes.
There are several regional parks in the West Minneapolis area and cyclists enjoy the views on the Cedar Lake, Dakota and Lake Minnetonka regional trails. For evening entertainment, take in a comedy at the Plymouth Playhouse or Old Log Theater; families enjoy children's productions at the Stages Theatre Company.
Lake Waconia is a popular fishing and sailing destination. Enjoy Waconia's specialty shops and nearby wineries. To the north, Albertville, Rogers and Buffalo are all popular shopping getaways.
