Housed in a 1915 former National Guard Armory now listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the contemporary Laird Norton Addition by celebrated architect, Joan Soranno, the History Center is an amazing place to visit while in Winona. Exhibits include an upper balcony timeline, that was once a running track, with an outstanding American Indian collection. The old main drill hall is now filled with exhibits on various topics from local business to a fun Children's exhibit featuring a cave, tipi and steamboat pilothouse. The Center also is home to the Winona County Historical Society offices, Archives, Museum Shop and event spaces.
