What to Expect at Minnesota Attractions, Restaurants & Hotels

(Last Updated: August 17, 2022)

Now that vaccines are widely available and COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted, you may be planning to visit some of Minnesota's many excellent restaurants, breweries, attractions and destinations or would like to plan an overnight stay

Mask Guidelines in Minnesota

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) recommend that people, both fully vaccinated and unvaccinated, continue to wear a well-fitted mask in some settings or situations depending on the level of community spread. Other federal, state, or local laws may require masks, and businesses may set their own requirements. Before heading out, check the mask policy at your destination(s) ahead of time. Visit the MDH or CDC for more information.

Proof of Vaccination or Negative Test Results

Vaccinations are not mandatory throughout the state of Minnesota, but private businesses or public events may require proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test before entering a venue.

Visitors are encouraged to plan ahead by checking COVID-19-related health policies at individual attractions and businesses.

You Might Need a Reservation

Capacity restrictions on Minnesota businesses have been lifted, but there's still a chance you need to make reservations in advance to eat at a restaurant, visit an attraction or attend an event. So before heading out, just remember to call ahead or check online to see if reservations are required.

Events are back but they may change

Your favorite festivals and events are happening across the state. However, events may have been altered or cancelled for the year. Before heading out, check with the event or destination ahead of time.
