  • The Chippewa National Forest shares boundaries with the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe. The Forest encompasses over one million acres within the boundary. Offices are located in Blackduck, Deer River, Walker and Cass Lake with partners in Marcell, Minn.

Other Date Information

  • Chippewa National Forest offices are open year-round. Office hours are Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Summer visitor centers are open Memorial weekend through Labor Day, Wednesday-Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Meetings & Conferences

  • URL/Meetings Web Page: Visitors may reserve the Norway Beach picnic shelter for larger events in the summer for $75. A permit is required for events over 75 people. Contact the Forest Supervisor's Office for more information at 218-335-8600.
