Drive Something Really BIG

By Explore Minnesota

Extreme SandboxNow, when “dozing” off about those childhood memories in the sandbox, you have the chance to bring them back to life. Set aside those Tonka Toy thoughts, and head to Extreme Sandbox, just minutes south of the Twin Cities in Hastings.

After detailed instruction, you get to operate an excavator, bulldozer or skid steer, and have “big kid” sandbox fun throughout 10 acres of obstacle courses. Extreme Sandbox is open year-round, no experience is required, and participants must be at least 14 years old. Prices vary by how many pieces you want to operate, and for how long.

Extreme Sandbox appeared on ABC's "Shark Tank" in January 2016.

Perhaps it’s time to cross driving a tank off of your bucket list? Yes, drive a tank! True to its name, Drive A Tank offers civilians the chance drive an authentic military tank. You’ll experience real armored tanks first-hand, operate the machinery (after a lesson, of course), explore winding wooded trails and terrain, or even trek off-road to crush a car. It’s located in Kasota, north of Mankato in southern Minnesota.
