Early settlers discovered that potatoes flourished in the flat, sandy soil of the area. Through the Great Depression, drought and urbanization, Brooklyn Park has shown its strength as a community willing to work together and make its city a welcoming place for everyone. Tater Daze remains the city’s signature community event, open to all ages with a wide variety of activities and fun for everyone, from toddlers to teens to parents and longtime residents. This year’s festival will be held on the grounds of the Community Activity Center, with the parade and Spud Run being held at Noble Sports Park.
