Join us in true Northland style at the Beargrease Fur-K Festival, part of the legendary John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon. Held at RiverWest Duluth and at the base of Spirit Mountain in Duluth, this family-friendly event combines outdoor adventure with community fun in support of the Beargrease. 

The Fur-K invites participants of all ages to run, walk, or bike along Duluth’s western waterfront trail system—while supporting the mushers, dogs, and volunteers that make the Beargrease possible. In addition to the races, enjoy live music, kids’ activities, food, and a festive fall atmosphere.

Our mushers will be there as it is our Musher Kick-Off -- many mushers travel far and wide to sign up for the 2026 race!

Whether you’re lacing up your running shoes, hopping on your fat tire bike, or just cheering from the sidelines, the Fur-K Festival is the perfect way to experience the spirit of the North. Proceeds benefit the health, safety, and wellbeing of Beargrease mushers and their canine athletes, while showcasing Duluth’s vibrant outdoor playground.

Sign up at Beargrease.com, in person and virtual options are available. $25 for the 5K walk/run and $35 for the 15 mile trail bike ride. All participants will get a t-shirt for both the in person and virtual races.
