Minnetonka Center for the Arts Unveils Summer 2025 Classes

WHAT: Minnetonka Center for the Arts Summer Classes 2025

To support its mission to expand visual arts education for all ages, interests, and abilities, the Minnetonka Center for the Arts announces the vast and varied lineup of the summer session. Everyone is welcome to visit and take classes at the Arts Center, which showcases artwork throughout the facility, with all classrooms featuring glass storefront-like windows so guests can watch students in action in each studio and decide if the class might be a fit for them.

The summer class list is open for registration and includes a variety of art forms for every age and skill level, from dabbling to mastery. Take a class that meets once a week for 4 to 5 weeks or a workshop that meets once or twice to fit perfectly into your summer travel schedule. You can even take a class with the family in our multigenerational workshops. There is an opportunity for everyone!

Here are just a few of the NEW Classes this summer:

Show Your Work, Approaching Art Galleries: Learn how the art business works from a successful, experienced artist and creative director! We’ll cover curation and exhibiting, galleries’ and clients’ expectations, and navigating commissions.

Mastering Oils: Realistic Florals from Photo Reference

Working from photos extends the time available to capture your subject, which is especially important when painting flowers! Work through the steps from photo-taking to painting to see how it all comes together.

Gel Plate Printmaking: You can create colorful prints without using a press or irritating solvents. Gel printing using gel plate offers an accessible printmaking method that cleans up easily, allowing you to create images more quickly and experimentally than other techniques.

Painting Workshop: Loose but Real: Ready to move beyond a strict rendition of your subject? Ready to push your paint handling to more expressive, painterly levels? We’ll work on cultivating a looser approach to paint handling while still capturing the subject, with an emphasis on the expressive qualities a freer paint application brings to a painting.
