For this year’s Judy Garland Festival, the museum has teamed up with Myrna Peterson of “Mobility Mania – Accessibility for All” attempting a Guiness World Record wheelchairs dancing in one place at one time. We need over 250 wheelchairs dancing to make this happen! Come one, come all to participate and support this incredible effort promoting arts, culture, and accessibility
FREE COMMUNITY EVENT AT MINER’S PAVILION AT YANMAR ARENA
· 3pm – Registration and dance practice for Guiness World Record participants and helpers
· 4pm - Wizard of Oz Carnival with bounce house, games, music, characters with food and beverage trucks
· 5pm – “Mobility Mania – Accessibility for All” attempts Guinness World Record – The most people in wheelchairs dancing to “Over the Rainbow” accompanied by Itasca Orchestra
· 6pm - Broadway performer, Marjie Shrimpton sings Judy Garland following record
· 7pm – Accessible transportation to local venues in Grand Rapids hosting artists
· 10pm – FIRST EVER EncoreLaser Lightshow as a night cap (location TBD)
