Small Business Saturday 2024: Holiday Glass Marketplace

Saturday November 30, 2024 from 11:00am - 6:00pm

Join us at Foci Minnesota Center for Glass Arts for our holiday open house! We will be offering a couple different seasonal activities including free glassblowing demonstrations and an opportunity to design your very own blown glass ornament. Our glass art gallery will be open for holiday gift purchases.

Shop for Glass Art Gifts: Celebrate the vibrant art community of Minnesota this Small Business Saturday by exploring the world of glass art created by talented local artists. Browse a wide selection of glass art pieces from high end home decor to fun stocking stuffers and more! Items such as sculpture, jewelry, tableware, ornaments, and season treats will be available for purchase. By choosing to shop with local artists, not only do you support the growth and vitality of our community, but you also acquire pieces that hold a deeply personal touch. Make this Small Business Saturday meaningful by investing in art that not only beautifies your surroundings but supports your local glass public access facility. Join us at Foci Minnesota Center for Glass Arts as we showcase the extraordinary talents of our local artists!

Design Your Own Glass Ornament: Sign up in-person to work with a professional glassblower to select the color of your own custom blown glass ornament! After selecting the colors and patterning, watch it get created in real time right before your eyes! $50.00/ornament. Walk-ins only. First come, first serve. Takes approx. 15 minutes. Hands-off experience. Only offered 11/30/24 from 11am-6pm.

Ornament Pickup Instructions: Due to glass needing to be cooled gradually in a kiln, you cannot leave with your ornament the day of your experience. All ornaments must be picked up by 12/21/24, or they will be recycled.

Watch Free Glassblowing Demonstrations: Warm up and observe glassblowing in action at the Foci MCGA hotshop! This is a great opportunity to watch professional glass artists work together to create their artwork, and gain some insight into the process. Questions are welcome. Free and open to the public. Seating is provided. 11/30/24 12pm-4pm.
