About
Many of us are familiar with The Odyssey, the epic poem composed around the 8th century BC and telling the story of Odysseus as he works his way home to Ithaca after fighting in the Trojan War. His journey takes ten years — the same amount of time the war lasted. This means that Penelope, Odysseus’ wife, has waited twenty years for his return. This untold story is brought to life in Penelope, with Christine Wade as one woman behind a piano, as we are given a snapshot into her final days of waiting for her husband. It is a musical love letter to all those who wait: For someone they love. For something they believe in. And hope that the wait will end well.
