Viking Fest Minnesota is the largest Viking themed gathering in the US. 

Minnesota is the land of some of the highest numbers of Swedish, Norwegian and other Scandinavian settlers in the US. 
Our festival is not only a celebration of culture and heritage - BUT - also a fun exploration of Viking Age life.

Come see for yourself and dive into some of the lore and legend of the Viking Age. Listen to live music, watch comedy shows, throw spears and axes, drink mead! All while learning the truth about peoples of the Viking Age as we dispel myths, present evidence and showcase museum artifacts.

If you're getting the sense that Viking Fest Minnesota is a blend of fact with the fantastical, now you're getting the picture!

What can you expect to see and do?
-Come see the largest sail-able Viking Ship replica in the mid-west!
-Interact with the Giant from Viking lore, Utgard Loki, and try to lift his axe.
-Sample foods from our food vendors that were plausibly available during this early medieval time.
-Visit our Viking village with re-enactors who not only live the part but love to talk about it and show you around a replica Viking Age settlement.
-View heritage breed chickens and sheep and watch a sheering demonstration!
-Go home with a craft you learned to make or a souvenir from one of the many artisan vendors
-Watch a comedy act of danger with swords, axes, and fire! 
-Something just for children? You betcha! Kids can RAID vendor booths for trinkets and make their own Viking Age round shield and sword. All while learning how people who lived during the Viking Age ate, farmed and thrived.

And just so ya don't miss it this year, pick from one of two weekends in Oct. - Oct 10th & 11th or the 17th & 18th - Or better yet, so you don't miss everything that's there, come both weekends!!
