To celebrate this kind and generous citizen from Winona’s past, join us on Wednesday, Sept. 24, at Windom Park, corner of Huff St. and Broadway, starting at 2 p.m. and ending at 5:30 p.m. There will be games, food, and many tables, with information on Latsch and about outdoor recreation, conservation, and cultural opportunities in the Winona area. At the Latsch and Son building, volunteers will give short tours about Latsch’s life, and Winona County History Center will have a small display. John Latsch donated around 18,000 acres of land to Winona, Minnesota, and Wisconsin to preserve public access to our beautiful natural resources.
