    Big Axe Brewery and taproom opened in downtown Nisswa on May 14, 2015. We are a small batch craft brewery with a kitchen. We specialize in producing a variety of full flavored, creative and freshly crafted brews and offer a fun, relaxing environment in which to enjoy them.

    We also have a full kitchen and serve delicious soups, salads and sandwiches and even breakfast as well (check hours).     Big Axe Brewing Company features a brand new brewery that will bring you as close to the beer making as it gets.     Sherwood Forest is the most unique of all Brainerd Lakes Area restaurants. Built in the 1920's this updated redwood lodge with 70' tall river stone fireplace is the focal point of their casual and relaxed dining experience with full bar and menu. The outdoor deck has a beautiful wood fireplace and full dining. It is your secluded get-away for quality food with a casual mood.

    The restaurant seats about 100 inside with a main dining area, a separate veranda and a lounge and bar off the main entrance. The building is on the National Register of Historic Places.

    Many call us a restaurant but that's not exactly how we see ourselves. We are a great times Mexican and pizza joint. We have the best staff in the Midwest and we are self-service with a smile. We have the lakes area's best beer selection, our pizza dough is homemade and our salsa is fresh daily. There are games for kids of all ages and you can come by car, boat, snowmobile, or float plane. Tie up at our docks.
