Our Mission: "The Old School Arts Center builds and enriches community through arts education, exhibition, and performance. It supports the effort of local and regional artists and provides a venue for public events." We have an incredible open gallery, live music and performance, classes, demonstrations and event space. Old Mill State Park
This historic area was recognized as a community treasure long before it became a state park. Visitors enjoy the old flour mill and log cabin as well as the clean swimming beach, spacious picnic grounds, campgrounds and 7 mi of woodland/prairie hiking. The sliding hill, 4 mi of groomed cross-country ski trails, and the 1.5 miles of snowmobile trails open up winter recreational opportunities. A warming shelter is available in the winter that serves as a picnic shelter in the summer.

Old Deetz Slate Mine Quarry
In operation from 1854-1911 under the direction of Levi Deetz, the quarry produced high-quality roofing slate for many of the significant building projects in the surrounding area including Duluth. In 1892, 'Slateville' was created to provide housing for workers in the quarry. The quarry was mined to a depth of approximately 100 ft and contained tunnels. Although presently filled with water, the steep quarry walls are visible and an historical marker is at the site.
Rivers Bend Golf Course
Voted 2021’s best golf course in Bluff Country. Rivers Bend, at Old Barn Resort, is an 18 hole, par 70 course. Unfolding along the Root River and Watson Creek, every shot on every hole places you in an unrivaled setting of natural beauty. With tee shots atop bluffs and approach shots to well protected greens, accuracy will be important. Featuring not one, but two signature holes. Hole 10 is a peninsula par 3 and Hole 16 is a long par 5 showcasing a bluff wall and trees from tee to green. Rivers Bend is as picturesque as it is challenging.
