Lake Benton Chamber of Commerce

Lake Benton is located in a scenic valley on the edge of Lake Benton (the lake). The town is located on the Buffalo Ridge (some of the highest land in Minnesota). There are over 450 wind towers on the Ridge. The city limits encompass 2,300 acres, making Lake Benton geographically the largest of the county’s five cities.

Lake Bemidji State Park

Located on the north end of Lake Bemidji, this popular state park offers sunsets over the water along with strolls under the pines, spring flowers and fall colors in the maple forest, and a unique bogwalk that winds into the mysterious world of a spruce-tamarack bog with its rare orchids and insect-eating plants. A sandy beach, hiking and biking trails, boat, canoe, and kayak rental, children’s playground, volleyball court, and year-round naturalist programs attract all ages.

Lagoon Park Campground

Lagoon Park has ten campsites, eight with water and electrical hookups, and provides modern bathroom and shower facilities. Availability is on a "first come/first served" basis.

Ladyslipper Ensemble

By offering innovative, fresh and engaging programming, Ladyslipper brings soulful and beautiful themes to life.

Lady Slipper Scenic Byway

Journey through the Chippewa National Forest as you travel the 28 mile Lady Slipper Scenic Byway, located between Blackduck MN and US Hwy 2 just east of Cass Lake. The Byway features pine and hardwood forests, great fishing lakes, recreation areas, historic sites and crosses the Mighty Mississippi. Ladyslippers are a common sight along the Byway beginning in late June. Visit the Rabideau Civilian Conservation Corps Camp, a National Treasure. Plan your visit for the lady's slipper blooming or around festivals in Blackduck or Cass Lake.

Lac Qui Parle State Park

The "lake which speaks" is a dominant feature of this park. In fall, thousands of geese descend on the lake, bald eagles perch on nearby trees and deer are a common sight. Fishing is popular year-round and the area is rich in Minnesota history. 6 miles hiking; 5 miles cross-country ski trails. The park has a semi-modern campground with electric sites, hot showers, flush toilets, swimming beach and boat access.

Lac Qui Parle Mission

The site of a mission, established in 1835, where the first Dakota dictionary, grammar, and gospel were completed. A chapel built in the 1940s by the WPA features artifacts and exhibits related to the Dakota and missionaries who worked with them. This Minnesota Historical Society historic site is managed by the Chippewa County Historical Society.
