A scenic detour off the popular Soo Line South Trail, the Lawler Loops showcase the iconic northern Minnesota landscape. The trail has three loops, passing north and south of the Soo Line. Stretches of boardwalk cross over the wetland areas and picnic stops with grills are available.
Laurentian Environmental Center (LEC) is an accredited, year-round public educational facility located in the Superior National Forest in Northeastern Minnesota.
Author Laura Ingalls Wilder lived on Plum Creek near Walnut Grove in the 1870's. Eight buildings make up the Museum grounds telling the history of the Ingalls Family and other pioneers to Walnut Grove. Life sized Dugout is a great hands-on exhibit. Check website for times & dates.
