SLCHS AND VETERANS MEMORIAL HALL TO HOST 20TH ANNUAL REMEMBRANCE DINNER ON DECEMBER 4, 2025
DULUTH, MN – The St. Louis County Historical Society (SLCHS) and Veterans Memorial Hall (VMH) invite the community to the 20th Annual Remembrance Dinner, a special event dedicated to honoring our nation's history and service members.
The evening will feature local icon Dave Anderson (Northern News Now, U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary), who will deliver the keynote address sharing his powerful interviews with local Pearl Harbor survivors. The dinner’s purpose is to continue to remember December 7th, 1941—the "Day that will live in Infamy"—84 years ago.
Featured Program & Theme
The 2025 dinner will celebrate the enduring spirit of the armed forces with a theme recognizing several major milestones, including the 250th Anniversaries of the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, and U.S. Marine Corps, aligning with the country’s 250th birthday year in 2026.
Guests will also witness:

The announcement of the Mike Colalillo Medal of Honor Scholarship winner.

Special addresses from Minnesota dignitaries, including Senator Amy Klobuchar and District #8 Representative Pete Stauber.

The unveiling of the new USS Duluth exhibit display.

A silent auction of unique items, some of which are exclusive to this event.

Tickets: $60 per person
Proceeds: Funds VMH events, exhibits, education, programs, projects, and crucial improvements to the VMH Gallery’s Medal of Honor Row display.
About the Keynote Speaker
Dave Anderson is a well-known meteorologist, reporter, and historian for Northern News Now, recognized as the longest-serving meteorologist in the Northland. A native of Ely, he is a dedicated public servant who serves on the Veterans Memorial Hall Board and is an active member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. He currently serves as the Division Commander of the Auxiliary’s Northstar Division, which covers northern Minnesota and Wisconsin. His background in history and service makes him uniquely qualified to share the stories of local veterans.
