About Us
The Outdoor Recreation Industry Partnership (ORIP) is an interagency collaboration between Explore Minnesota (EMN), the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR), the Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED), and Iron Range Resources and Rehabilitation (IRRR).
The Partnership was formed in the spring of 2023 as a direct result of recommendations made by both the Minnesota Outdoor Recreation Task Force and the Governor’s Council on Economic Expansion.
Our Mission
To grow a diverse and sustainable outdoor recreation industry and economy for the benefit of all Minnesotans.

Spending time outdoors makes us all happier and healthier, and a strong outdoor recreation economy ensures better access for all. At the Outdoor Recreation Industry Partnership (ORIP), we are dedicated to ensuring that Minnesotans and visitors to Minnesota experience the amazing benefits of a life lived outside.
