About

In this immersive workshop, students will dive into the process of multi-block linocut printmaking, creating a layered image using two to four separately carved blocks. We’ll explore thoughtful design development, color separation, and strategic layering to build depth, contrast, and visual impact. Participants will learn precise registration methods to keep each color aligned, along with carving techniques that support both bold shapes and detailed textures. Through guided demonstrations and ample studio time, students will carve, proof, and print a small edition of their own multi-color relief prints. This extended format allows for experimentation, stronger craftsmanship, and a deeper understanding of how color and composition interact in relief printmaking. All materials are provided, and students will leave with finished prints and the confidence to continue working independently.
