About
July’s Photography and Art at the Rock flows with light, color, and the rhythm of water.
We are proud to feature Lisa Webskowski, an acrylic painter whose work is deeply inspired by the landscapes and wildlife of Minnesota’s North Shore along Lake Superior.
Boats, shoreline, wildlife, and open water frequently appear in Lisa’s paintings — reflecting both the region’s cultural heritage and the enduring beauty of its natural environment. Across all subjects, she follows one guiding principle: every piece contains water.
In her work, water is not limited to lakes or rivers. It may be flowing, still, or frozen as snow. Even a moose deep in the forest or a winter bear is connected to the landscape through water. For Lisa, water is both unifying element and quiet metaphor — a symbol of continuity, transformation, and resilience along the North Shore.
Her background in graphic design and illustration informs her storytelling and composition, while her lifelong connection to this place shapes her subject matter. Each painting invites viewers to step into a fleeting moment of light and presence within the landscape.
Lisa will be onsite to share more about her work on the following dates:
- Friday, July 3 | 10 AM – 4 PM
- Saturday, July 4 | 10 AM – 3 PM
