Warroad is excited for the ice to form. In 2020, the Riverbend Skate Path was created by city residents along the Warroad River. What began as a way to connect residential rinks along the river, became a hot commodity for our community. Hockey teams visiting for hockey tournaments took breaks to use our skating path. People that haven't skated in 40 years laced up skates once again. The community embraced the skating path. Christmas trees were donated to line the path. A groomed cross-country ski trail follows along the outside perimeter. Snowmobilers along the river yield to skaters along the path. Concessions were sold for people to enjoy hot chocolate, hot dogs, and more as they take a break from the ice. We are trying our patience while we wait for the river to make enough ice for us to once again lace up the skates and enjoy our favorite past-time in HOCKEYTOWNUSA.
Dates for the Riverbend Skate Path depend on the season and ice conditions. Date range in estimated.
