David’s “Lonely Blue Dreams” album has 5 of Roy’s biggest hits, and 8 original tunes inspired by Roy, one that he dreamed… did Roy send it to him? Another he wrote at the request of Roy’s manager after a chance L.A. meeting.

Following a January 2026 Roy Orbison tribute show tour through Arizona, “The Ultimate Tribute To Roy Orbison” by David K as Roy Orbison + band, David K of Minneapolis visited The Roy Orbison Museum in Wink, Texas. A humble 1 room museum, hosted by the City of Wink, is opened by appointment. David K was charmed by the simplicity of the museum. He was also inspired to help, as the curator mentioned the museum has no website. David K offer complimentary creation and hosting of a site, and as well, assistance with an online store, alongside his own Roy show merchandise. “I’d like to direct Roy fans that we meet all over the country, and with our continuous promotions online, to the site and the museum,” David says. Proceed portions from the site will help with maintenance and upgrades to the museum. “Stop and see this museum when anywhere near West Texas,” David says. “I was able to actually try on a real pair of Roy’s sunglasses that had been donated by his 2nd wife Barbara. Wow, I was shaking… There’s a piece of Carl Perkins personal stationery upon which all 4 Beatles signed good wishes to the museum!” David K is also editing video history of Roy, tons of Roy photos, a short video tour of the museum for the site, and also a short video of a custom Roy Orbison juke box, commissioned by the Wink School District that holds only Roy hits records.

During Roy’s peak, he secured multiple Top 10 hits, including number-one singles "Running Scared" and "Oh, Pretty Woman". Overall, he placed 30 songs on the Billboard charts throughout his career. Key Top 40 Hits (1960–1966): "Only the Lonely," "Crying," "In Dreams," "Blue Bayou," and "It's Over". Later Success: In 1988, he had further chart success with the Traveling Wilburys, including the hit "Handle With Care".

“You Got It” was released posthumously on January 3, 1989, after Orbison's death from a heart attack on December 6, 1988. The song was issued with "The Only One" as the B-side and was later released with "Crying" (version with k.d. lang). The single reached number nine on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number one on the Adult Contemporary chart, returning Orbison to the top 10 for the first time in 25 years. "You Got It" also reached number three on the UK Singles Chart and entered the top five in 10 other countries. Although it is an Orbison solo single, Orbison's fellow Traveling Wilburys bandmates Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne co-wrote the song and played instruments on the record.
