About
Join us for the free, family-friendly 30th Annual Wildlife Festival to celebrate the wildlife at Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge!
From 10:00 am to 2:00 p.m. stop by the Oak Savanna Learning Center to enjoy a fun-filled day on scenic granite trails featuring several booths with engaging, hands-on activities. Observe live animals, watch a bird banding demonstration, explore refuge wildlife and management, try your skills at a BB gun range, experience native seed cleaning, learn about Native American culture, discover aquatic invertebrates and more! Plus, enjoy delicious food from three local vendors, bid on unique items at the Friends’ silent auction, and shop at the Eagle’s Nest Nature Store.
From 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., visitors will have the unique opportunity to drive along several refuge service roads, providing access to areas typically closed to vehicle traffic.
At 11:00 a.m. discover the misunderstood side of Minnesota’s “unlovable” wildlife in the engaging Animals Nobody Loves live animal program featuring a snake, salamander and owl by the Wildlife Science Center. This program is perfect for curious kids and nature-loving families!
At 12:30 p.m. team up with Federal Wildlife Canine Togo and Officer Pete Harvey to solve a wildlife mystery using real-life investigation skills. This Investigation Demonstration program is fun, hands-on and for investigative minds of all ages.
