Lyon County Museum

The Lyon County Historical Society (LCHS) is a non-profit, member supported organization located in downtown Marshall, Minnesota. LCHS operates the Lyon County Museum, which is located at 301 West Lyon Street in Marshall, MN. The museum is located in the former Marshall-Lyon County Library building, which was built in 1967.

The mission of the society is: “The purpose of the society shall be the collection, preservation and dissemination of knowledge about the history of Lyon County and to relate it to the history of the region and the state of Minnesota."

Lyndale Park Gardens

Lyndale Park Gardens encompass the Peace Garden, Rose Garden, Annual & Perennial Garden, and a Butterfly and Hummingbird Garden. The Peace Garden features hardy alpine plants and dwarf conifers and begins blooming in mid-April. The Annual/Perennial peaks in mid-June and the Rose Garden typically begins blooming in mid-June and lasts until early October. Butterflies and hummingbirds can be seen throughout the summer.

Luverne Country Club

Southwest Minnesota's finest 9 hole golf course. The Luverne Country Club offers golfers a well established course with mature trees lining beautiful fairways. With four sets of tee boxes, the course ranges from 2,516 yards from the front tees to 3,339 yards from the back tees. A full practice facility with driving range, practice bunkers, and chipping and putting green are offered at the course. Following your round, join us in our clubhouse with our bar and grill menu.

Lutz Railroad Garden

The Lutz Railroad Garden started with a flat backyard and the vision of Bud and Ayako. In 1978, the original waterfall, river, arch bridge, and pond were built and the journey began. Since that time, many flower beds have been added, along with several uncommon trees to the Twin Cities area, including a redwood, Ohio Buckeyes, magnolias, and a corkscrew willow. Flowers abound, blooming throughout Spring and Summer, starting with the magnolias and peonies.

Lutsen SNA

This SNA is a rugged landscape with parts of two ridges of the Sawtooth Mountain Range. Eagle Mountain and Raven Ridge rise over a thousand feet above Lake Superior, about two miles to the southeast. The Minnesota Biological Survey has documented ten native plant communities on the 720-acre SNA, including 276 acres of old-growth northern hardwood forest and upland white cedar forest. Individual trees as of 2017 include a 213-year old white cedar, 135-year old yellow birch, and 123-year old white spruce.
