A Dream of the Future: 125 Years of Women's Hockey in Minnesota Exhibit

Ask any Minnesotan when women’s hockey started and you’ll get a few different answers: maybe 1995, when the MSHSL sanctioned girls’ varsity hockey for high school. Or 1970, when Farmington started a youth program. A few people will say 1918, when women’s hockey first got a dedicated page in the Gopher yearbooks.

DakhaBrakha

DakhaBrakha is a music quartet from Kyiv, Ukraine. Their “ethno chaos” sound spans years of performances prior to Russia’s 2022 invasion, but war is in everything now. Here, they masterfully blend Ukrainian traditional music with influences from around the world, resulting in an unexpected new music.

2025 Christkindlmarkt

The 2025 Christkindlmarkt will occur on Saturday, December 6th, 2025, at the Gasthaus Bavarian Hunter from noon to 4pm. Enjoy a glass of gluhwein with sausage pieces and goulash. Appearing for your added pleasure, the Peterson 6 Band will be playing seasonal tunes as you peruse around an open fire and plenty of crafters in the Gasthaus meadow.

2025 Canadian Pacific Holiday Train: Winona

In its 27th year of spreading cheer while collecting food and raising money for food insecurity, the CPKC Holiday Train will run Nov. 19 to Dec. 21, 2025. Professional musicians play free concerts from the brightly decorated train’s stage. CPKC donates to the local food bank at each stop and encourages all attendees to make a monetary or heart-healthy food donation. The festive train will arrive in Minnesota on Friday, Dec. 12, stopping first in La Crescent before making its way along the Mississippi River to the Twin Cities that weekend. It will depart the state on Dec.
