Johnnie Brown: "Let the Music Play" - The Music of Barry White

Johnnie Brown was born in Mississippi. He began singing as a child in his father’s church choir. As an adult, Johnnie’s sibling and friends encouraged him to take singing more seriously.

Brown decided to take his vision as a performer to the next level and formed a band. Since, he has established a reputable name for himself and performs locally around the Minneapolis area. He attributes his love of music to many great legends of R&B, soul, pop and the great “sounds of Philadelphia”.

Guitarist/singer John Pizzarelli has been hailed by the Boston Globe for “reinvigorating the Great American Songbook and re-popularizing jazz.” Established as one of the prime contemporary interpreters of the Great American Songbook, Pizzarelli has expanded that repertoire. Here, he includes the music of Paul McCartney, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Tom Waits, Antônio Carlos Jobim, and The Beatles.

Interpretive Hiking Tours

Step back into time with a Minnesota Discovery Center tour guide! This 1-hour interpretive hiking tour takes you through the unique, historical industrial landscape that MDC calls home. As you trek through the Redhead Trail System, you’ll learn about the sometimes-hidden past of a mining environment in reclamation—and you’ll get in a good workout. This tour is appropriate for beginner through advanced hikers ages 10 to adult. Some familiarity with hiking best practices is advised. Appropriate hiking footwear highly is recommended.
