World Juniors Pre-Tournament Series Switzerland vs. Minnesota State

The 50th anniversary of the IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship will take place Dec. 26, 2025 – Jan. 5, 2026, in Saint Paul and Minneapolis, Minnesota. In the leadup to the tournament, teams from around the world will compete in the World Juniors Pre-Tournament Series, presented by Delta Dental of Minnesota, hosted by four Minnesota communities representing the State of Hockey: Mankato, Duluth, Bemidji and Rochester.

Winter Birds Scavenger Hunt

Winter may be quiet, but there a still birds to discover! Drop by to chat with the naturalist to learn about birds that stay at the park in winter. Then, set out on a scavenger hunt for hidden birds!

Stop by anytime between 1pm through 2:30pm at the Group Campground Parking lot.

The program is free to attend but requires a valid Minnesota State Parks Vehicle Permit. These may be bought online at MN DNR State Parks Vehicle Permit or at the park office.

Looking to learn more about the natural ecosystem found in Minneopa. Go for a naturalist-led walk with a number of stops to talk about the historical and natural significance of this state park.

Meet at the Group Campground Picnic Area on the campground side. In the event of inclement weather, this program will be cancelled.

Minnesota Hmong New Year

The Hmong New Year is the only Hmong cultural holiday known to the Hmong and is a highly anticipated event by many Hmong households each year as we come together with family and friends to celebrate the end of the Hmong calendar year. At this event, patrons will get to join in on all the festivities of Hmong song, dance, and reuniting with friends and family we have not seen for a while.

Bend of the River Figure Skating Competition

The Mankato Figure Skating Club is proud to host its 22nd annual Bend of the River Figure Skating Competition, sanctioned by the U.S. Figure Skating.Practice ice will be available on Friday evening and Saturday morning. 33rd Annual Women's Art Festival

The 33rd Annual Women’s Art Festival will take place on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 4 PM at a new location! This year's festival will be held at the Seward Montessori School, 2309 28th Ave S, in Minneapolis and includes over 70 local women artists selling their artwork including jewelry, fiber, photography, painting, pottery and more. Admission is free and all are welcome. A $1 donation at the door is suggested to support the school PTA programs. There is plenty of free parking in the parking lot of the school and nearby streets.
