AN APOLOGY TO AND FROM A MOTHER

This one-person, autobiographical show has creator and performer Adil Mansoor trying to reconcile his queerness, his mother's fear for his afterlife, and their love for each other by inviting her to co-dramaturg Antigone, the classic Greek tragedy about two sisters on opposing sides of obligation. Together Adil and his mother mine Greek tragedy, Islamic traditions, and their own memories to create an original performance locating love across faith.
