Capitol Quadriga Starlight Tours

Take a guided tour of the restored State Capitol building and meet historical characters from the Capitol's past. The tour also includes a climb to the rooftop for a rare evening viewing of the gilded Quadriga, the golden horses, against the backdrop of the lighted skylines of the Twin Cities.

Halloween Extravaganza

Celebrate Halloween at Dodge Nature Center’s Shepard Farm property in Cottage Grove!

Come in costume to trick-or-treat through the woods, ride on the hay wagon to look for ghosts and goblins, and meet slithery creatures. Try your luck at field games to win extra treats, then settle in for some silly science skits that will educate and entertain. Food will be available for purchase while you are enjoying the fall fun.

Focused on Craft: Flax to Fiber

Join a discussion of growing and processing the flax plant for multiple uses, as well as the important role flax has played in Minnesota history. A demonstration of the various stages of manual flax preparation will follow.

Led by Kora Boisvert, a teacher and nurse with an ever-growing interest in all things fiber. She has been spinning, weaving, and using natural dyes for over twenty years.
