Alebrijes Exhibition: Building the Dream World

Experience the colorful, fantastical world of alebrijes and see how artists create these engaging creatures!

Anderson Center is pleased to partner with the Minnesota Latino Museum to present the exhibition Alebrijes: Building the Dream World. An alebrije is an imaginary creature that possesses elements from different animals. They originated in the 1930s from the vivid dreams of Mexico City artist Pedro Linares. You may have seen them in the 2017 Disney/Pixar film “Coco,” which increased their exposure in the United States.

Immerse yourself in the enchanting Language of Flowers - a tradition used during the Victorian era to convey secret messages through floral arrangements. Create your own message with flowers in the cut flower garden to give to someone.

Postponed: Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo

Clamor no more, the “Trocks” are back! “The World’s Foremost Gender-Skewering Comic Ballet Company”—famed for performing polished parodies of classical ballet en pointe and en travesti—continues its quest for global adoration after more than 50 fantastic years of artistic hilarity. Dance aficionados, drag lovers, and novices to both art forms alike will revel in the technical skill and uproarious antics of the Trocks, as they are affectionately known.

Kimberly Akimbo

A new musical about growing up and growing old (in no particular order), Kimberly Akimbo is the winner of five Tony Awards® including Best Musical, Best Direction, Best Book and Best Director.

The Addams Family: A Musical Comedy

A comical feast that embraces the wackiness in every family, The Addams Family is the magnificently macabre hit musical featuring everyone’s favorite creepy, kooky characters. Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family. A man her parents have never met. And if that weren't upsetting enough, she confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he's never done before: keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia.
