Rochester Spring Classic

The 5K & 15K courses will include an out and back on scenic paved bike trails along the Zumbro River in and around downtown Rochester.

NightFalls

Ramsey Park is dressed in over 420,000 lights across 256 acres that includes 2 waterfalls, 8 bridges, and 4 miles of illuminated paved walking trails. Attendees can drive through the park (one-way from entrance on Grove St) or walk in with parking options available nearby and in the park. In addition to the static light displays, Event Sound and Lighting’s music and light performance near the historic swayback bridge is a must see! Several themed walking trails are great fun to explore with your kids to spot the dinosaurs, fairies, and animals. Free event, donations appreciated.

Museum Makers Class: Pisanki

Pisanki are eggs that are decorated and colored, and are a tradition in Poland and other East and Central European countries. The word pisanki comes from the Polish verb pisac, which means "to write". This class will use a technique that involves a metal funnel at the end of a stick, called a kistka, to create designs with warm flowing wax. Join WCHS member and volunteer, Lori Ortega, in creating your Pisanki on either Sunday, April 13, Noon - 3 p.m. or on Monday, April 14, also Noon - 3 p.m. p.m. Cost is just $12 for WCHS members and $20 for non-members.

Minnesota State Band Spring Concert

Join the Minnesota State Band for their annual spring concert, "Past and Present." The program will include selections from the band's repertoire from 100 years ago, the premiere of a brand new composition, and music from their "Mostly Marches and Overtures" winter tour to Moose Lake, Grand Rapids, and Cloquet. Don't miss another varied and entertaining program from the talented musicians of the Minnesota State Band, conducted by Keith Liuzzi and Evan Varns.

Gutenberg! The Musical!

April 17-19 & 24-26 @730pm and 20 & 27 @2pm With the power of friendship and a lot of historical fiction, writing partners Bud and Doug have created a musical about unsung hero and inventor of the printing press, Johannes Gutenberg. They're here to present their show to potential producers and take it to the capital of the United States: Broadway! They built the set, hired as many musicians as they could afford, and are playing all the parts. What could go wrong?
