The Sound of Gospel©: Celebrating Black History Month

The Sound of Gospel©, presented by 2nd Chance Outreach, takes the audience on an expansive historical musical journey featuring praise and worship (devotions and hymns), work and freedom songs, ring shouts, Negro spirituals, choirs and quartets, up to today’s contemporary and urban gospel. Elements of drama and joy resonate throughout the show.

REMINISCING – THE HITS YOU REMEMBER FROM ’75 – ’79

Whether you lived the ’70s or just love the ’70s, come reminisce with us as we perform your favorite hits the way you remember them! With artists like Little River Band, England Dan & John Ford Coley and Pablo Cruise, you’ll hear classics like “Baby Come Back,” “Still the One,” “I Go Crazy,” and “Whenever I Call You Friend.” This show features three amazing lead singers backed by a stellar Twin Cities band. Love the ’70s? We do too! You can look forward to lots of harmonies, stories behind the songs, plus a few fun surprises!

A Minnesota Nutcracker

Experience the beloved holiday classic with a Minnesota twist! A Minnesota Nutcracker maintains the essential traditions, story, and music beloved by so many—but adds Minnesota flair, brought to life by the powerful athleticism and artistry of Twin City Ballet’s dancers.

Clara encounters iconic Minnesota characters and locations on her magical journey: the state Capitol’s golden horses, cascading waters, tiny bluegill fish frolicking by a Mississippi River paddleboat, and, new this year, Vikings, and Minnesota’s state bird and flower, the loon and lady’s slipper.

A Minnesota Nutcracker

TCB’s annual production of A Minnesota Nutcracker has been a beloved holiday tradition in the South Metro since its inaugural performances in 2003, and is attended by over six thousand audience members in the course of a single weekend each year.

Featuring spectacular dancing and original choreography, A Minnesota Nutcracker retains all the magic and familiar traditions loved by so many, but adds local flair with Minnesota settings and custom designed Minnesota-centric backdrops.

MAGIC CARPET RIDE – THE MUSIC OF SAN FRANCISCO, 1967 (SUMMER OF LOVE)

Magic Carpet Ride is a musical journey through one of the most electrifying and impactful times America has ever seen. Immerse your senses in an electrifying video show projection accompanying a live performance of songs by The Doors, The Grateful Dead, The Byrds, Iron Butterfly, Jefferson Airplane, Procol Harum, Cream, The Zombies, Steppenwolf and Janis Joplin.

The light show itself is a highlight of this experience – being “improvisational and hands-on, conjuring up swiftly changing kaleidoscopic images that ebb and flow with the music.”

Joyann Parker’s Classic Ladies of Country is a captivating musical journey that pays homage to the timeless and iconic female voices that have shaped the country music genre. With her powerful and versatile vocals, Parker masterfully channels the spirit and emotion of legendary artists such as Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette and Dolly Parton, among others.
