Celebrate New Ulm’s German heritage at HermannFest, a unique late-summer festival held at the historic Hermann Heights Monument overlooking the Minnesota River Valley. This free community event features live German and regional music, traditional German and American food, and refreshing local beverages throughout the day. Festivities take place in both Hermann Heights Park and nearby Harman Park, creating a lively outdoor celebration.

The Brown County Free Fair is a favorite summer tradition in New Ulm, offering five days of classic Minnesota fair fun with free admission at the Brown County Fairgrounds. Bavarian Blast is New Ulm’s signature summer celebration of German heritage and culture. If you haven’t heard, this isn't just a beer; it’s a collective effort to support the independent voice of Northern Minnesota. The KAXE Board teamed up with our friends at Jack Pine, Klockow, and Bemidji Brewing to create a German-American Pilsner that honors our community. By pairing richly flavorful German heirloom malt with bright American hops, we’ve created a highly drinkable, effervescent lager with crisp citrus and spicy floral notes.
