Explore the attractions and scenic waters of the Big Stone Lake Area! At the foot of Big Stone Lake is where the Minnesota River begins its journey through the southern Minnesota countryside. Outdoor recreation abounds. Enjoy our resorts, hiking, birding, golfing, antique shops, history and friendly people. Campground facilities at the foot of Big Stone Lake, swimming beaches, fishing pier, public access and fishing docks. Many resorts and fine dining along the Minnesota and South Dakota sides of the lake. Winter fun includes snowmobiling, cross country skiing and ice fishing. Our area is known for excellent walleye fishing! Go hiking and birding at the Big Stone National Wildlife Refuge. Or go for a walk or bike ride on the paved bike trail. Unique shopping and antique shops can be found throughout the area. Annual events include the Sports & Leisure Show the 3rd weekend in March and CornFestival the 3rd weekend in August.

The Chamber Office hours are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For further tourist information, contact the Big Stone County Historical Museum or Ortonville Public Library on the weekends.
