Dorothy Molter Museum
About
On site are three of the original cabins from the Isle of Pines, former home of Dorothy Molter, also known as the 'Root Beer Lady' and the 'Nightingale of the Boundary Waters.' Dorothy was the last permanent, non-indigenous resident of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Her original cabins, (currently featuring distinct exhibits) were removed after her death and brought out by dog sled to be reassembled as a memorial to Dorothy's amazing life.
