High on the bluffs overlooking the Mississippi River, scenic overlooks are easily reached by walking trails and offer a chance to get away in the quiet bluff country. Oak-hickory woods, pine plantations and goat prairies provide excellent birding, scenery, hiking on over 6 miles of trails and 9 miles of mostly intermediate level cross-country ski trails. A quiet park ideal for bird watching, hiking, and camping.
Hours & DatesPhone reservations can be made by calling 866-857-2757 (TTY: 952-936-4008) between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. daily November through March, and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily April through October.
Park permits: $35 annual, $26 second vehicle, $12 handicapped, or $7 daily. Camping fees are separate.

Love this park! You get all the best views of the Mississippi and also see pine, oak, goat prary. My only wish is to have the state upgrade this facility with a dump station for us RV people.

While in Rochester for appointments at the Mayo Clinic, we had a break one afternoon and visited this park. Beautiful views, nice hiking and a lovely setting. Highly recommend if you’re in the area.
