Hawk Ridge Nature Reserve, located in east Duluth, provides some of North America's best autumn hawk watching. During the fall, migrating raptors concentrate in impressive numbers and funnel down the North Shore along the bluffs.
From September 1 through October 31, naturalists are on site daily 9 am-4 pm (weather pending). Demonstrations involving banded raptors and songbirds, displays providing information, hiking trails, and free public programs are some of the opportunities at Hawk Ridge.

Gorgeous views. There were a bunch of bird watchers there who helped us know what we were looking at! Didn’t hike because of some mobility issues but there was plenty to see right off the parking...

There weren't any hawk events during my visit, but it is always a good spot to view the waterfront from way up. Noticed that there were hiking trails, but too late in the day to explore them.

This place has an awesome view! So many good trails to walk or trail run! I'd avoid it at night though. Sketchy cars at late hours parked next to each other. :/

Always see Hawks or other birds of prey flying over this area. It is famous for birders but a great drive up to Hawk Ridge taking Skyline Drive that can be a little tricky to follow. Take your time...
