Hawk Ridge Bird Observatory
About
Hawk Ridge Nature Reserve, located in east Duluth, provides some of North America's best autumn hawk watching. During the fall, migrating raptors concentrate in impressive numbers and funnel down the North Shore along the bluffs.
From September 1 through October 31, naturalists are on site daily 9 am-4 pm (weather pending). Demonstrations involving banded raptors and songbirds, displays providing information, hiking trails, and free public programs are some of the opportunities at Hawk Ridge.
Dates
The education staff is available every day during September & October. The best time to visit is during the middle of the day, from 10am to 2pm. Binoculars provided.
