Hewitt Public School Museum
About
Hewitt Public School was built in 1910 and listed on the National Historic Register in 2006. The building was retired as a public school in 1981. Soon after this closing the structure became home to the Hewitt Museum. The Hewitt Museum was created to preserve & promote the history of the City of Hewitt, MN along with Stowe Prairie Township. In 2010 the Museum received a Legacy grant from the Minnesota State Historical Society to repair and restore the building's roof and windows. There is a lot of unique things to see in this historic structure! The Museum is open Sundays from Memorial Day to Oct. 1st from 1 pm to 5 pm on Sundays or by appointment.
