A family oriented fishing and vacation resort located in the midst of the Chippewa National Forest in Itasca County. Located on the North shore of Sand Lake, we have ten modern cabins all situated along a beautiful white sand beach. Amenities offered include a playground, a gameroom, basketball court, laundry facilities on site, boat, motor and pontoon rental. Picture yourself in a rustic (yet modern) cabin about a stone's throw from a 1,000-foot beach on beautiful Sand Lake. Imagine peaceful mornings, quiet evenings, and the fun of fishing that lake for the many walleye, perch, northern, crappie, bluegill and bass to be found there. Seem to good to be true? Not at Island View! We work hard to give you the kind of vacation experience that you and your family want. Island View is located on the northeast shoreline of Sand Lake about 50 miles northwest of Grand Rapids, and boasts one of the best natural sand beaches in the area. Access to the lake is provided by a cement boat launch and two 100-foot steel docks for your boating and fishing convenience. A 14-foot fishing boat comes with each cabin and we have motors and a beautiful pontoon to rent. We also stock live bait, gas and oil for sale. All 10 of our clean, comfortable cabins are located at lake level not more than 50 feet from the beach. They are furnished with showers, microwaves, bedding, kitchen utensils and dishes, toilet paper and paper towels. A coin-operated laundry facility is available on site. There is a local grocery store within seven miles, hiking and biking trails in the area, golf as close as half-hour away, and the excitement of casino gambling about an hour away. Family facilities include basketball, volleyball, tetherball, horseshoes, ping pong, a family bonfire area, and a gameroom complete with pool table, air hockey and electronic games.
