Kanabec History Center
About
37 acre complex with hiking trails, picnic areas, main exhibit hall with exhibits, research library, gallery/meeting room and gift shop with antique nook. Also on site historic buildings. 1-1/2 hours north of the Twin Cities. As well as other exhibits which chronicle and provide interpretation to Kanabec County's past. Many exhibits to choose from. This facility was awarded another grant for excellence from the Institute of Museum & Library Services in 1998.
A research center within the facility houses genealogical and historical data, cemetery listings and family histories available to the general public. The Center also has two separate rental facilities and a newly expanded gift shop offering a large selection of books, items handcrafted by local artists, Native American birchbark objects, and local souvenirs including Dala Horses.
The Center hosts a wide variety of programs and special events throughout the year where people of all sizes can have fun! See our website for a calendar of the fun events! A nature trail, picnic area and a hiking/ski trail also utilize the thirty-seven acre site. There is also a bike trail connected to the property.

Adults $5, children K-12 $2, family $10.
Pre-school and members free. Free Parking. Individual membership $35, family membership $50. Family membership includes free admission for all household members.
