About
Lakewood Lodge is a Minnesota resort on Sand Lake offering family and fishing vacations with newer lake cabins that have all the amenities of home, a new playground, lodge, swimming beach, planned children's programs and great fall colors.
Our fourteen lakefront cabins are comfortable and well spaced with all the amenities of home like in-living room fireplaces, Air Conditioning, High Speed Wireless Internet, dish-washers, cable tv, gas grills, screened porches, 2 bathrooms and individual campfire rings just to name a few. All cabins offer exceptional views of our quiet, protected bay of Sand Lake.
We offer the convenience of on-site fishing boat and pontoon boat rentals along with bait, gas, tackle and ice. The docks are powered and you get a free dock space with each cabin rental.
Our swimming beach is perfect for playing, building a sand castle or soaking up the sun and our sand-bottomed swimming area has a raft, a slide and no drop-offs. You will also enjoy using our canoe, hydrobikes, kayaks and paddle boat on nice summer days. We have a new large children's playground and offer numerous kids activities and resort activities including scheduled activities like minnow races, a potluck and much more.
Our lodge has minimal groceries, candy, pop, slushys, ice cream, apparel and gifts and is a great place to come together and share your stories.
Our location is great! We are located 38 miles northwest of Grand Rapids or 50 miles northeast of Bemidji or 10 miles northeast of Lake Winnie (Winnibigoshish) or 5 miles west of Bowstring Lake.
We are located in the Chippewa National Forest which offers Hiking Trails, Biking Trails and access to approx. 1000 miles of Snowmobile Trails.
There are several Golf Courses in the area.
Sand Lake offers fishing opportunities for walleye, northern pike, largemouth and smallmouth bass, jumbo perch, crappie, sunfish and bluegills. Additionally, our location on the Bowstring Chain of Lakes allows access to Little Sand Lake, the Bowstring River, Bowstring Lake, Rice Lake, Dora Lake, the Bigfork River, Bird's Eye Lake, and Portage Lake.
