About
Classic northwoods cabins, handcrafted by the Ludlow family and updated with every expected amenity. Each unique cabin is situated among pine and birch on the water’s edge of Lake Vermilion.
Families enjoy the security of our private island where kids can be free to explore and roam. Our beach is complete with climbing iceberg, zip-line, and waterslides, as well as kayaks, hydro-bikes, and stand-up paddleboards. Daily children’s activities and a movie-and-pizza night give the grown-ups plenty of time to relax.
Fishing folks find covered docks, guides, free fish cleaning, and Vermilion’s 40,000 acres of fishable waters irresistible. Lake Vermilion is one of the highest catch-rate Muskie lakes in American and has been known for walleye fishing for decades. Ludlow’s has professional, world-class guides and full-service fish filleting and packaging. Bring your personal boat or rent one with us; either way, you’ll have covered dockage with electrical outlets at boat side.
A perfect destination for family reunion, Ludlow’s has something for everyone. Kids roam and explore the island while others relax in our spa, fish with a professional guide, or hit the links at three nearby championship golf courses.
Ludlow's Island Resort is Northern Minnesota's only 3 Diamond, AAA, and Forbes rated resort. Cabins are lakeside and have multiple baths, fully equipped kitchens, wood-burning fireplaces, charcoal grills, and privacy.
Come to the Island and create memories that will last a lifetime.

I don’t want to write this review. I want to keep Ludlow’s Island a secret that only me and my family and friends can enjoy. It is the perfect Up-North resort and I don’t want to see it get too...
