Pillbox Tavern

About

In late 2018, our friends at Stacked Deck Brewing mentioned to Bill and Shelley Ashton, co-owners of Jerseys Bar And Grill in Inver Grove Heights, that the restaurant that was going to open in the new Treasure Island Center (formerly Dayton’s and Macys) fell through. The tenants were searching for a restaurant to fill the space on Wabasha. Bill and a life-long friend, Matt Bakke, have always talked about partnering up some day. Matt has been in the industry for many years, so it was the perfect opportunity. After researching old sports history from Saint Paul, we learned about The Pillbox Stadium that hosted the Saints in 1902. The story behind the stadium was so intriguing, we decided to name the restaurant after it.

In search of an Executive Chef, Graham Messenger was recommended to us. Graham has a great reputation and is known for his skills working for other top-notch chefs in the Twin Cities. We are proud to have him join our team.

With Graham being ingredient and technique driven, the food menu will change every 6-8 weeks seasonally. We will offer a variety of foods for everyone to enjoy, such as burgers, sandwiches, gluten friendly and vegan options.

Make sure you check out our fresh and evolving beer selection, exclusive craft cocktails, and extensive whisky, bourbon, scotch, tequila and vodka options.

With the hockey rink on the fifth floor of our building, the 15,000 sqft Saint Paul Event Center above us, we will cater to all individuals and families coming together in this wonderful city!
