Ruttger's Birchmont Lodge, a year-round family resort on Lake Bemidji offering cottages, motel rooms and townhomes. Facilities include: indoor pool, fitness center, sauna, whirlpool, beach and boat rentals.
From the fishing opener weekend in May, through Labor Day, our opened facilities increase to include conference facilities for up to about 100 people, an on-premise restaurant, and a cocktail lounge. The Ruttger Family's tradition of hospitality goes back four generations - that's more than 100 years of family resort operation in Minnesota. The resort's accommodations include lakefront rooms, suites, town homes, a whirlpool suite with fireplace, and cottages with 1 to 4 bedrooms. Our guests enjoy the terrific golfing at the many nearby 9 hole and championship 18 hole golf courses including the beautiful Bemidji Town and Country Club.
Ruttger's, is a full service family resort. The resort lodge and cabins are spread out along a beautiful 1700 foot natural beach. Ruttger's offers a host of summer activities including fishing, swimming, sailing, water-skiing, canoeing, kayaking, and much more. In the summer months the resort also offers a complimentary supervised children’s recreation program. Children love the supervised hiking, bonfires, treasure hunts, and other planned events, most provided at no additional charge. Resort guests are also welcome to use the resort's basketball court, canoes, and kayaks FREE of charge. So ENJOY!
Casual lakeside dining. Outdoors in our garden patio or indoors in our Garden Grill dining room. Steaks, seafood, burgers, pizza, sandwiches, salads. Open seasonally (May to September) for lunch and dinner. Cocktail service available. Or join your friends in our popular Pirate's Cove Lounge. Lunch and dinner and pizza are available in the lounge or outdoors on the Pirate's Cove patio.
In the Fall and Winter seasons, some of the resort facilities close. The resort dining room and lounge are closed. Ruttger's does keep several motel rooms, some town-home style units, and cabins or Villas open during the colder months. The indoor pool, exercise rooms, sauna, and whirlpool are open all year long offering you and the kids a great Northern Minnesota winter family vacation spot. In the fall, guests enjoy the beautiful Autumn colors in the woods surrounding the resort and Bemidji area. Hunters enjoy the abundant game population that our north-woods location provides. The deer, duck, and grouse hunting in the Bemidji area is hard to beat.
